7 Tips To Raise Your Energy

In this article I share with you a few ways you can raise your energy. I think we all go through phases when we just don’t feel alive enough to do anything. (This may not be you.)

And as those horrible feelings take over you, it’s perfectly normal to forget about some natural ways that could help you.

So here I am, to remind you of a few.

The following tips are stem from personal experience as well as from my own research.

Water

Did you know that dehydration leads to tiredness, fatigue, even irritation and experiencing all sorts of negative emotions? Sometimes all your body needs is water to feel more energised. Simple, yet powerful way to raise your energy.

I drink a minimum of 2 litres of water per day. I drink more on hot days as heat makes the body sweat, and it loses more water so increasing your intake is important.

Oxygen

You may think that this shouldn’t be on the list as you have to breathe to survive. And looking at it from that angle, you’re absolutely right.

However, there’s breathing and there’s breathing. How you breathe does matter. So I invite you to follow a deep breathing exercise which will help the oxygen to fully travel to your brain and that will wake you up for sure.

Close your left nostril and breathe deeply in through the right nostril. Then close the right nostril and breathe out through your left nostril. Breathe in through the left, breathe out through the right, and so on. Make sure the air gets all the way down into your belly as you breath in. The slower the better. Do this for at least 5 mins, 10 if you can, and this will energise your body and mind.

Food

You can raise your energy by eating the right kind of food. I’ve experimented on myself to see what makes me tired and what gives me energy. I know the scientist are saying that junk food is bad for me but I wanted to know what ingredient exactly is causing me fatigue.

Well, surprise, surprise…

My biggest enemy is gluten. Did you know that it plays with our energy level? I had no idea. I’m not celiac yet it makes me feel like I’ve been hit by a bus. (Not that I know how that feels, I can only imagine it.)

So when I’m on a gluten free diet, I feel so energised. I’m not saying that this is the cause for every one of you, but it might be for some of you. I think it’s worth a try to see if gluten is using up all your energy.

Vegetables without a doubt increase your energy. So snacking on some raw vegetables can make a huge difference. Also, cutting down on sugar and on foods that are not natural.

Thoughts

When you’re really tired, your thoughts are around tiredness, lack of energy, how much you hate the day, etc. Which then emphasises the fatigue.

But, if you think back, bring up a memory when you felt energised, on top of the world, your powerful subconscious mind will bring up the feelings that are attached to that memory and your energy will be raised too.

I’m not saying that by visualisation you’ll be able to run a marathon, but it’ll help you to feel better.

Time and space doesn’t exist for your subconscious mind, thus keeping a memory, when you had a lot of energy, in your mind will raise your energy.

Also, thinking about good, loving memories will help you too.

Emotions

Negative feelings, attachment to the past can totally wear you out. You may have tried many ways to increase your energy, but if nothing seem to work, this is the time to dig a little deeper.

Are you holding onto bad feelings? Do you feel sad, guilty, angry, etc, about anything?

If you are, then think about ways to release them. You may want to get in touch with a professional or use methods at home. I have a video on how to tap away negative feelings. You can watch it here.

Sleep

There are times when you just need the good old sleep. If you missed out on sleep, then stop depriving yourself and just go to sleep as soon as you can.

No matter what you have experienced so far, a minimum of 6 hours sleep is a must if you want to recharge your batteries. Your brain and your whole body can only function well if you rest it. When you sleep, your body recovers from the day and enters a healing state considering you slept well. (If you are struggling, get in touch and let’s have a chat.)

Make sure you look after yourself by sleeping for at least 6 hours, more if you need or can.

Medical help

If your fatigue is long lasting and no home remedies seem to help, it’s time to get in touch with a medical professional (doctor) who can help you to find out if you have underlying issue.

There are many other ways too, but the above are the most common ones.
